There is nowhere on earth quite like Namibia. From its famed Skeleton Coast to National Parks bigger than Switzerland, with less than three people per square kilometre we urge all our guests to add Namibia to their bucket list.
Meander along the untamed and seemingly boundless Skeleton Coast, where the winds weave tales of wilderness. Behold the marvels of Damaraland’s Petrified Forest, home to trees with a history stretching back an astonishing 280 million years or track desert adapted elephants or black rhino on foot.
Key Information
-
Unlike many of its southern Africa counterparts Namibia is truly a year round destination, with 300 days of sunshine a year.
May - October: ‘Dry Season’, Prime visiting months as desert temperatures are neither too hot nor too cold, temperatures will drop a little at night. As it gets drier throughout the season the more the wildlife will be drawn to waterholes.
November - April: ‘Summer Season’, temperatures and humidity rise with dramatic thunderstorms sometime punctuating the afternoons.
-
Safari: In the dry season Etosha National Park (larger than Switzerland) sees huge numbers of wildlife gathered at its water holes.
The Skeleton Coast and Sossusvlei have never failed to enchant all their visitors while Damaraland is a landscape like no other. There is honestly not a bad place to go in this stunning country.
Relax: Namibia can easily be paired with a trip to Cape Town (direct flights from Windhoek) or alternatively get out in to the desert and sleep under the stars with your loved ones.
-
Photography: Namibia is a photographers dream, be it landscape, wildlife or portraiture. From sand dunes to big cats, birding to nomadic tribes there is a myriad of options. We love many of the Skeleton Coast properties but Kulala Desert Lodge takes the top spot.
Honeymoon: Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp gets you miles off the beaten track and a wonderfully quiet, remote place to start your honeymoon. First rate cuisine matched only by the vast landscape and quiet camp, we love it here.
Family: Grootberg Lodge. Perched upon the ridge of the Etendeka this community owned lodge has stunning views (particularly on a clear night) and a wealth of safari activities for kids to get involved in.

Not To Be Missed
Sossusvlei
From climbing Big Daddy, one of the highest sand dunes in the world, trekking desert adapted elephants, sleeping under the stars, biking across gravel plains and taking a hot air balloon over this other-worldly landscape this one of the most dramatic locations we offer, and a firm favourite of ours.
Skeleton Coast
Home to one of the most remote camps on earth (Wilderness Hoanib Skeleton Coast) nowhere is the rugged nature of Namibia more on display than here.
Walk the coast line where Africa meets the Atlantic, dotted with ship wrecks and cape fur seals, or get out on game drives in search of desert adapted elephants, oryx, giraffe or lion.
Damaraland
One of the reasons we love Namibia so much is its varied, dramatic landscape. Here we believe you can have a sundowner every night of your trip and be blown away every evening.
Damaraland in the countries north west feels like stepping on to Mars (we imagine, currently not a destination we offer) while Palmwag was formed 125 million years ago by magma eruptions.
